Booth Bay, Maine - Catie Wiley
Gulping down my destination
I flee my feelings, bite my dreamings,
gurgle out a lonely sound
as I swallow them down.
The river runs
like a heart stabbing arrow
glides
through the air,
in slow motion before it pierces.
A sailor offshore,
I gaze upon the pebbled horizon
wondering:
how can I run away
(and stay away)
if I’ve never succeeded before?
