black and white photos - pieter reed

PIETER REED grew up in Westchester, California. I started painting religiously about 3 years ago. I started with spray paint and paint markers, using old wood slabs from their job as canvas. I’d paint everyday after work for hours, it became an obsession. It took me a while to develop a style of their own. Most of the original pieces were simply throwaways, such is the process. Most of my work is non-objective and lacking any sort of structure. As an artist/creative it’s important to just keep doing it and understand, especially at the beginning, the vision isn’t always executed to perfection and that’s ok. It’s all part of the process. I also take 35mm photos on an Olympus OM-1. I believe as a creative it’s important to explore all the mediums to become more well rounded.
